Worthy Roots exists to honor your survival and fuel your growth.
You’re worthy, from the stories you inherited in silence, to the healing you choose to write forward.
Worthy Roots was built for the ones who’ve survived shit no one talks about and for the ones holding space for them.
The survivors.
The cycle-breakers.
The caregivers.
The advocates.
The people doing the healing, and the people walking alongside them. This isn’t just a place to land.
This is where you start to root into safety, reclaim your worth, and grow into purpose.
Why Healing Is Essential
Most of us were handed pain before we even had words for it. We were taught to push through, hold it in, or turn it into a joke. And we did. Because we thought it made us stronger. We survived abuse, abandonment, poverty, racism, shame—systems that were built to keep us down. Especially if you're navigating life in a body that’s been erased or excluded. We adapted. Hardened. Built fortresses so complex, even we got lost inside. But survival has side effects. It shows up in your body. In your relationships. In your finances, your parenting, your ability to rest. It shows up in how you trust, how you hope, how you move through the world. It even shows up in your ability to focus, to retain information, and to learn something new. You may not even realize how much it’s costing you.
Because when pain is all you’ve ever known, suffering starts to feel like home.I didn’t know how different life could be until my partner and I started healing really healing. Not just therapy when we could afford it, or the occasional self-help quote when nothing else was available. We began addressing how trauma shaped our decisions, how it lived in our nervous systems, how it dictated our reactions, our intimacy, our parenting, our money, even our joy. And once we did? Every part of our lives began to shift. Not perfectly. Not all at once. But undeniably. This is a call to stop settling. Even in the middle of all the things you can’t control—political violence, generational trauma, the fcking patriarchy—you still have power. Healing won’t erase those realities. But it will change how you move through them. It will change what you accept, what you attract, what you build, and what you pass down. And if you’re waiting for the perfect time, the extra money, the quiet house, the external permission… you’ll be waiting forever. Start where you are. Start messy. Start tired. Start scared. Just start.Your whole life may not change overnight. But how you carry it, how you move through it, how you own it: that part will. And that changes everything.
Why Worthy Roots Exists
Worthy Roots was created by a survivor:
🔹 For survivors who, despite exhaustion, self-awareness, and the weight of overextending themselves: continue to show up.
🔹 For individuals navigating healing while parenting, working, masking, caregiving, or simply striving to make it through each day.
🔹 For those seeking more than just the assurance of not being alone—they seek tangible tools, authentic truths, and meaningful growth.
🔹 For advocates, therapists, and support workers holding space for others while trying to hold onto themselves.
🔹 For those committed to the journey of healing. If healing spaces have ever felt too polished, too privileged, or too disconnected from your lived experience...
If your identity—your race, gender, disability, queerness, class, or culture—has ever made you feel like an afterthought in traditional healing circles...
If you’re not just looking to cope you’re ready to break cycles...Worthy Roots was built with you in mind.Because you deserve a space where your story is centered.
And if you’re someone who supports others in their healing journey - this space is here to refill your cup, too.

Worthy Roots Founder
Hey, I’m Adolisca (a-dough-lis-ka)—the voice, heart, and slightly awkward brain behind Worthy Roots.
I’m a trauma survivor, nonprofit worker, and someone who’s spent the last 8+ years walking alongside folks most impacted by systemic harm. I also hold privilege as a white, cisgender, able-bodied woman, and I’m committed to doing the ongoing work: unlearning biases, amplifying marginalized voices, and building spaces that are anti-oppressive, trauma-informed, and real. This isn’t performative healing. This is the messy, powerful kind.If you’d like to hear more about my journey and why I created this space, click the About Me button below....
